Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to the Journal of Green Chemical and Environmental Engineering (JGCEE). All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their scope, originality, scientific quality, completeness, and compliance with the journal's requirements. Manuscripts that meet the initial criteria are subsequently evaluated through the journal's double-blind peer-review process.

Authors should ensure that the following requirements are fulfilled:

☐ The manuscript is within the aims and scope of JGCEE and presents a clear and relevant contribution to the field.

☐ The study is scientifically sound, with a clearly defined research objective, appropriate methodology, well-supported analysis, and logically developed conclusions.

☐ The manuscript presents an original contribution and does not contain plagiarized, fabricated, or falsified content.

☐ The title is concise, informative, and accurately reflects the content of the manuscript.

☐ The abstract is self-contained and clearly presents the research background, objective, methodology, principal findings, and conclusion, as appropriate.

☐ The manuscript is sufficiently clear and well organized to allow the research design, methods, results, and scientific arguments to be properly evaluated.

☐ The manuscript meets the journal's formatting and submission requirements as specified in the official JGCEE Author Guidelines and manuscript template.

☐ The manuscript is suitable for double-blind peer review, with author-identifying information prepared in accordance with the journal's submission requirements.

Ethics and Research Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all ethical and legal requirements related to their research have been fulfilled before submission:

☐ All authors have approved the submitted manuscript and agreed to its submission to JGCEE.

☐ All individuals listed as authors have made appropriate contributions to the research and meet the journal's authorship requirements.

☐ The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.

☐ Permission has been obtained for the use or reproduction of third-party materials, including copyrighted figures, images, datasets, documents, or other materials, where required.

☐ Appropriate ethical approval has been obtained from the relevant ethics committee or institutional review body when the research involves human participants, animals, or other research requiring ethical oversight.

☐ All relevant conflicts of interest have been disclosed by the authors.

☐ Research data, results, images, and other scientific materials are presented accurately and have not been fabricated, falsified, or misleadingly manipulated.

☐ The authors comply with the JGCEE publication ethics, research integrity, and AI-use policies, where applicable.

Editorial Screening and Peer Review: Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's minimum requirements for scope, originality, scientific quality, ethical compliance, or submission completeness may be returned to the authors or rejected during the initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that successfully pass the screening stage will proceed to double-blind peer review, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Final editorial decisions are made based on the manuscript's scientific quality, reviewer recommendations, editorial assessment, and compliance with the journal's policies.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Green Chemical and Environmental Engineering (JGCEE) are required to ensure that the following conditions have been fulfilled:

☐ The manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration by another journal.

☐ The manuscript has been prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) format using the official JGCEE manuscript template.

☐ Complete and accurate information is provided for all authors, including full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID iDs (if available).

☐ The manuscript follows the journal's prescribed formatting and writing style, including font, spacing, section organization, and other requirements specified in the author guidelines.

☐ All in-text citations and references are formatted according to the IEEE referencing style.

☐ All figures, tables, and graphs are properly numbered, captioned, cited, and placed according to the journal's formatting requirements.

☐ The manuscript has been checked for plagiarism, and the similarity index does not exceed 20%.

☐ The manuscript is written in clear and appropriate academic English and has been carefully proofread before submission.

☐ A graphical abstract is provided as a separate file, prepared according to the Graphical Abstract Template.

☐ A signed Statement of Originality has been completed and uploaded. Please use the Statement of Originality Form.

☐ An AI Use Declaration is included in the manuscript when applicable, in accordance with the JGCEE AI Policy.

☐ Authors agree that the published article will be made openly accessible under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

☐ Authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the JGCEE publication ethics and research integrity policies.

By completing the submission, authors confirm that the manuscript and all accompanying files comply with the requirements above. Incomplete or non-compliant submissions may be returned to the authors for correction before proceeding to the editorial process.

Copyright Notice

Copyright and Licensing

Authors publishing in the Journal of Green Chemical and Environmental Engineering (JGCEE) retain full copyright and ownership of their original work. Copyright is not transferred to the journal or its publisher. By submitting a manuscript to JGCEE, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and make the article publicly available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

This means that:

☐ Authors retain full copyright and ownership of their work.

☐ Authors may share, distribute, and make their published work publicly available, including through institutional repositories, personal websites, and other appropriate open-access platforms.

☐ Authors may reuse, republish, adapt, and otherwise make use of their work, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original publication and the applicable license terms are respected.

☐ Readers and other users may copy, redistribute, and adapt the published work, provided that they give appropriate credit to the original author(s), provide a link to the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, and indicate whether changes were made.

☐ Derivative works must be distributed under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license, in accordance with the ShareAlike requirement.

☐ The journal does not claim ownership of the copyright and does not impose additional restrictions on the authors' lawful reuse or self-archiving rights beyond those arising from the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Self-Archiving and Sharing

JGCEE supports the broad dissemination of published research. Authors are encouraged to self-archive and share the final published article through institutional repositories, personal or academic websites, research repositories, and other appropriate open-access platforms, provided that the original publication in JGCEE is properly acknowledged and the CC BY-SA 4.0 license is retained. Copyright remains with the authors. Publication in JGCEE does not constitute a transfer of copyright to the journal. The journal's role is to publish and disseminate the work under a non-exclusive publishing license while preserving the authors' ownership and reuse rights.
