Copyright remains with the authors. Publication of an article in JGCEE does not constitute a transfer of copyright ownership to the journal or publisher. Authors retain copyright in their work while granting JGCEE the necessary rights to publish and disseminate the article.

Rights Retained by Authors

Teaching and Academic Use

Authors retain the right to use their published articles for lectures, presentations, conferences, teaching materials, and other legitimate academic purposes.

Sharing and Distribution

Authors and other users may share and redistribute the published article in any medium or format, provided that the requirements of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license are followed.

Thesis and Dissertation

Authors may include their published article or appropriate portions of it in a thesis, dissertation, or other academic work, with proper acknowledgment of the original publication.

Reuse and Adaptation

Authors and third parties may reuse, remix, transform, and build upon the published material, subject to the terms of CC BY-SA 4.0. Appropriate attribution must be provided and adapted material must be licensed under the same terms.

Publication Rights Granted to JGCEE

Authors grant JGCEE the necessary publication rights to ensure that accepted articles can be formally published and maintained as part of the scholarly record. These rights include:

  • Publishing and reproducing the article in electronic and other appropriate formats;
  • Distributing and making the article publicly available through the JGCEE website and scholarly communication platforms;
  • Archiving and preserving the published version;
  • Assigning and displaying the article's bibliographic and publication metadata;
  • Depositing article metadata and, where applicable, the published article in indexing services, repositories, and scholarly databases.

These publication rights do not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to JGCEE.

Author Publishing Agreement

Authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication may be required to complete an Ethical Statement and Copyright License Agreement before publication. The agreement confirms that copyright remains with the authors and records the publication rights granted to JGCEE. The published article will be distributed under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
