Psikoedukasi Bahaya Self Diagnosis Pada Kesehatan Mental di SMA Negeri 8 Kota Ternate

Abstract
Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang pesat, khususnya akses internet dan media sosial, telah meningkatkan kepedulian remaja terhadap kesehatan mental. Namun, kondisi ini juga memunculkan fenomena self-diagnosis, yaitu kecenderungan individu mendiagnosis kondisi kesehatan mentalnya sendiri berdasarkan informasi daring tanpa pendampingan profesional. Fenomena ini banyak terjadi pada siswa SMA yang berada pada fase pencarian identitas diri dan rentan menginternalisasi informasi kesehatan mental secara keliru. Praktik self-diagnosis berpotensi menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif, seperti kebingungan kognitif, tekanan emosional, perilaku maladaptif, serta risiko cyberchondria. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran siswa mengenai bahaya self-diagnosis terhadap kesehatan mental melalui program psikoedukasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 8 Kota Ternate dengan peserta siswa kelas XI. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, dialog interaktif, serta pelatihan pengelolaan stres dan coping yang adaptif. Materi psikoedukasi mencakup konsep kesehatan mental, ciri mental sehat dan tidak sehat, pengertian serta penyebab self-diagnosis, dan dampaknya terhadap aspek kognitif, afektif, dan perilaku. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai risiko self-diagnosis, kemampuan mengelola stres, serta pemahaman tentang cara mencari informasi kesehatan mental yang benar. Peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif selama kegiatan berlangsung. Program psikoedukasi ini menjadi langkah preventif penting dalam mengurangi praktik self-diagnosis di kalangan remaja serta mendorong peningkatan literasi kesehatan mental di lingkungan sekolah.
